Confidentiality and professional ethics

Counselling at Expressions follows the ethical code and guidelines of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. CRB checks are up to date. The identity of clients and content of sessions will be kept strictly confidential.

I began formal training as a counsellor in 2003 and have experience of working with colleagues at a counselling agency, schools, college and in private practice. Training as a post-graduate, I gained my Diploma in Pastoral Counselling from the Institute of Pastoral Counselling, Nottingham, accredited by the University of Lampeter, in 2008.

My Training and Qualifications

I am a registered and accredited member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, which means that my counselling work and training is professionally supervised, and approved by the BACP accreditation team, which vigorously upholds high ethical standards in the counselling profession.

My core training in counselling is Integrative, using knowledge and practical skills from the following theoretical models:

Pastoral Counselling, Person-centred, Psychodynamic, Humanistic, Integrative, NLP, Play Therapy, Relational, TA, Attachment theory.

I have also trained in Equine Assisted Psychotherapy using the EAGALA Model, this means counselling sessions with clients can take place outdoors, or in the field with horses, using the horses and surrounding area to work therapeutically using metaphor.
